On a cloudy but dry day the YG's had a switch to the planned venue and travelled to Aldborough St John, to play the Wanderers.
Batting first the YG's faced some tidy disciplined bowling but accumulated a decent score of 216-6. In spite of a smallish outfield it felt a competitive total. N Hammond was the pick of the batsmen with a fine 75 not out. He was well supported by Tom Robinson 29 and Jack Owram 45 at the top of the order.
In reply the Wanderers struggled against some fine bowling and were skittled for a modest 68 just after tea. Pankaj Saini producing an especially fine spell of 6-14 off 6.3 overs.
Can the YGs maintain their 100 per cent unbeaten run when they host the combat XI on the 6th June.?
