Sunday saw the YG’s welcome Brocklesby Park for the first time to Escrick.
On a beautiful cricketing day on Sunday the YGs took on a new team of Brocklesby Park. To change things up from the norm Brocklesby won the toss and decided to have a bat. At 36 for 0 Brocklesby made a confident start. However Pradeep removed the key opening batsman. Pradeep would go on to get the best bowling figures of the the side 6 overs 3 for 25 runs. Richard Exley and David O’Kelly both finished the innings with 2 wickets a piece.
This set a moderate total of 81 for the YGs to get in order to make it two wins out of two and an opening stand of 66 lead the way to victory with David O’Kelly contributing with 24 and Jason dale with 36. Phil Holland and Rich Exley finished off the game leaving the YGs winners by 8 wickets and 17 and a bit overs left.
A good win and an enjoyable afternoon of cricket for both teams. Everyone getting use to the Covid compliant rules.
The YG’s host Halifax Nomads this Sunday and the Forty Club the following Tuesday. We are promised the return of the Summer weather this coming weekend.
